Courageous heARTS - Make art. Together.

The RestART Room is a reflective space at Roosevelt High School built in partnership with staff and students to promote self-care and stress reduction during the school day. This contemplative room is designed to give students space to access and practice self-care strategies and promote healthy habits that support a resilient mind and a courageous heart.

Mindfulness, creative self-expression, and 1:1 resilience coaching are at the heart of what we offer in the RestART Room. Our goal is to reduce stress in order to support learning and personal resilience. Students are invited to participate individually - taking the space they need to regroup and return to the classroom - or collectively through educational self-care sessions and other group activities.  Throughout the year, we invite student leaders, as well as healers and artists from the broader community, to share their experience and wisdom with the school community.

We are grateful to the staff and students at Roosevelt who have given us space to listen and learn so we can offer our support to this school community. We would also like to thank the following collaborators who have made this space possible:

The Community Healing Hub
MN Alliance with Youth
Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association
Support the Effort
The RestART Room began with an empty room, some excess supplies from our studio, a group of students who were passionate about supporting their peers' well-being, and committed adult allies. Support from the surrounding community is another essential catalyst to helping this space grow and thrive.

Designate your financial contribution to the RestART Room to ensure we have trained staff, accessible materials, and honorariums for students, healers and artists who provide their time and talents. We consider product donations and in-kind support on a case-by-case basis and welcome conversations about collaboration - please contact us to discuss.
