Spotlighting Artists
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of opportunities for young artists to have their work seen and celebrated by the broader community. Our Show-or-Sell Pop-up events and annual coloring book are two important ways we spotlight our artists.

Youth Development Programs
From the outside, heARTS might look like your average art studio, but art is just the start of our work in the community. When you visit the studio, you support our youth development programs focused on leadership, creative entrepreneurship, and personal resilience.

Open Studio

Our space is designed as a working studio for every kind of artist - from beginner to experienced. We give you the freedom and flexibility to create whatever you want, however you want, with no expectations or judgements about the final outcome. We believe the process of creating something from nothing is where the magic happens - and during Open Studio you have the space to do just that!

Creativity is a transformative tool inside all of us, that we can use to de-stress and invest in ourselves and our community. Sometimes all it takes is having access to the space, the supplies, and the support - and that's exactly why we're here.
Basic supplies: paint, sketching pencils, found objects, scrapbooking materials, stamps, magazines, mod podge, decorative scissors, hot glue, exacto knives, and more!

Hours & Fees

Due to COVID-19 precautions:
  1. We now require advanced registration for all Open Studio hours. Please click the listing on our schedule to reserve your space.
  2. We ask that visitors purchase a pass through our website before visiting to limit contact. Passes are available for both single and multiple visits. Purchase a pass here.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for those experiencing financial hardship. In response to persisting wealth and pay gaps, we prioritize folks from historically marginalized communities.

Creative Labs

At heARTS, we focus on the process of creating rather than the product. Labs are the perfect place to experiment and explore new mediums or grow your technique with an old favorite. Labs are taught by our seasonal artist-in-residence and range across expressive mediums from painting, sculpture, writing, acting and more! We try to keep our Creative Labs as approachable as possible so everyone, regardless of skill or experience can embrace their creative spirit.

Our schedule of Creative Labs is seasonal in nature, with new offerings each spring, summer and fall.  Labs typically have minimum age requirements - depending on materials and content -  but are otherwise open to both youth and adults. Prices include all materials and instruction.
